TCA assisted South Whitehall Township as it worked to adopt its first Comprehensive Plan in over 35 years. Located in the Lehigh Valley adjacent to Allentown, the Township enjoys a rare asset in the largely undeveloped areas north of “Huckleberry Ridge”, and desired the area to grow as a model sustainable community. The Comprehensive Plan, “A Balanced Path Forward”, provides a responsive blueprint for Best Practices, Models, and Implementation strategies intended to promote a distinctive, pedestrian friendly environment. It includes Residential, Commercial and Industrial “Innovation Overlay Districts” that are intended to enhance the visual appearance and economic vitality of the public realm in South Whitehall.
