The City of Lancaster commissioned TCA to prepare an Urban Park, Recreation & Open Space Plan which is focused, in part, on 30 existing public open spaces. Winner of a 2010 ASLA Honor Award, this plan responds to specific objectives shared by City residents via numerous public meetings and opinion surveys conducted throughout 2008/2009. Plan strategies include enhancement of all existing parks, construction of new facilities, connection of scattered park sites via greenway linkages, and improved utilization of school facilities to better serve the recreational needs of park-deficient neighborhoods.
